python2.7-dbg software package provides Debug Build of the Python Interpreter (version 2.7), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install python2.7-dbg

python2.7-dbg is installed in your system.
